The report offers a number of recommendations to address declining achievement in Australian schooling. Pulling together scholarship on policy and educational technology I provide an analysis of key aspects of this report. This analysis draws attention to three salient features of the report: continuous assessment for continuous improvement; education as personalized learning; and, growth mindset as a policy mandate. I explore the implications for schooling in Australia if these features were to be taken up. Analysis indicates that Australia could undergo significant change: teaching would be reconstituted as a process of continuous assessment; processes of personalized learning would lead to algorithmically tethered educative opportunities based upon students' previous achievement and choices; and learners would be reshaped by technologies of persuasion. Given that educational jurisdictions globally are increasingly advocating for these types of educational solutions, this research is valuable as it provides a basis for further critique of such technologies being proffered as a panacea for educational disadvantage.]]> Wed 14 Sep 2022 16:01:06 AEST ]]> Becoming-other: developing the ethics of integration https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:15383 Wed 11 Apr 2018 17:10:50 AEST ]]> Bringing Deleuze's philosophy into discourse on values education and quality teaching: an Australian model https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:14154 Wed 11 Apr 2018 16:53:59 AEST ]]> Introduction: the 'Untimely' Deleuze: some implications for educational policy https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12815 Wed 11 Apr 2018 15:59:48 AEST ]]> Educating Gnosis / making a difference https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:12814 Wed 11 Apr 2018 13:05:06 AEST ]]> (Re)Landscaping early childhood education in East Asia: A neoliberal economic and political imaginary https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42060 Wed 07 Feb 2024 17:12:25 AEDT ]]> Using the future to transform the design logic of schooling: consensus statements from an expert panel https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40890 Tue 19 Jul 2022 16:09:18 AEST ]]> Policy misrecognitions and paradoxes: developing more contextually attuned access and equity policies in Australian higher education https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:41936 Tue 16 Aug 2022 11:57:50 AEST ]]> Communities of care: A collective writing project on philosophies, politics and pedagogies of care and education in the early years https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:47999 Tue 14 Feb 2023 16:29:07 AEDT ]]> From education segregation to inclusion: the policy ramifications on Chinese internal migrant children https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:35007 Thu 30 May 2019 12:52:48 AEST ]]> The looting of the American Dream: the post-Katrina rubble of public education in Louisiana https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:19327 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:52:13 AEDT ]]> Institutional statements of commitment and widening participation policy in Australia https://ogma.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:28141 Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:36:39 AEDT ]]>
